Tag Rugby at Grove:
On Tuesday, most of the year 6s went to a Tag Rugby competition at Grove rugby club.

There were 24 teams in total. We had 2 teams - red and green. The red team only lost 1 game in the heats, making it through to the quarter finals. Unfortunately, the green team only won one game in their heats.

In the quarter finals, the red team played Milbrook in the pouring rain, but lost this game 7-2. Both teams improved immeasurably from the last competition we took part in and despite getting very wet and cold, we all enjoyed the experience.

Have you ever wondered what life was like as an Evacuee in Stanford during WW2?

Year 6 were lucky enough to be visited by John & Gwyneth Travis who were able to tell them all about what happened in Stanford during World War 2.

During the course of the war, 159 children were evacuated to Stanford. Some lasted only 1 day before they returned to their parents! Some stayed here for 5 years.

It was a really interesting talk and we all learned a lot. John would be interested in hearing from anyone who has photos of Stanford during WW2, especially the school, so please contact the school if you can help with this.
