Fun and Healthy



Schools receive PE and Sport Funding.

This funding must be used to fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary aged children, in the 2024 - 2025 academic year so that they develop healthy lifestyles.

We receive a total of £17,720.00.

Key Stage 1 Quad Kids Competition 09.07.24

Huge congratulations to our year 2 team who competed in the Quad Kids competition this morning. After a very close competition we came 3rd overall out of 5 schools.

All 10 children behaved brilliantly, showed excellent sportsmanship and tried their hardest in each event.


Boccia 28.06.24

Ollie J, Melody, Ronnie and Eleanor took part in the County finals of Boccia on Friday 28th June at Marlborough school.

It was a great morning and they played brilliantly. They all showed fantastic sportsmanship that other schools at the tournament complimented them on.

Out of seven teams they came third! It was a close third they were nearly second all down to points scored by them and against them.

 Well done


Boys Cricket County Cricket Finals 27th June

On Thursday 27th June, our boys cricket team took part in the County Cricket Finals in Kidlington.

The team consisted of Roni, Toby, Evan, Benji, Sam, Frank, James and Dylan S.

The boys played exceptionally well, winning two out of their five games. Amazing work boys.


Quad Kids 24.06.24

On Monday 24th June, 3 teams of KS2 children went to the Quadkids athletics competition at Millbrook School.

They took part in 4 events: a long distance run, a sprint, long jump and vortex throw. They all showed amazing perseverance and skill, especially in the warm weather.

One of our Year 5/6 teams made it through to the finals and special mention to Merryn who was the highest scoring girl out of all schools present.


Girls' Cricket tournament 12.06.24

On Wednesday 12th June - Lily, Kaitlin, Caitlin, Keira, Jasmine, Merryn, Amathst and Darcey from Year 6 went to Challow Cricket Club to take part in a tournament.

They played four games against Wantage, Charlton, Millbrook and St Nicholas.

They all played superbly well and improved throughout each game. Some amazing bowling, batting and fielding.

Boys' Cricket tournament 12.06.24

During the afternoon of Wednesday 12th June - Toby, Evan, James, Benji, Sam and Frank from Year 5, Roni from Year 6 and Dylan from Year 4 took part in the boys cricket tournament at Challow Cricket Club. Nine teams took part so initially the boys were put into a league with four other schools.

They were amazing and were unbeaten by the four other schools - winning 3 and drawing 1, against Stockham A, Stockham C, St Nicholas and Millbrook. The team got to the final where they played Charlton.

It was an extremely close game but due to their great overload bowling, brilliant fielding and batting and amazing teamwork they won and were crowned winners of the tournament.

This means the boys are now representing this area in the County Finals. Good luck boys.


Tennis at Wantage

On Wednesday 22nd May Isla, Lottie, James and Evan took part in the tennis competition at Wantage Tennis Club.

They all played 4 matches and had a mixture of winning and losing. Overall, we came fourth.

They all played amazingly and still had a smile at the end despite the wet weather!


Boccia 24.04.24

On Wednesday 24th April 12 children from key stage two classes took part in a boccia tournament at King Alfred's.

We put three teams into the event 1. Scarlett, Alice, Daisy, Ronnie. 2. Imogen, Eleanor, Ollie J, Melody. 3. Caitlin, Mollie, Toby J, Dylan G. Seven schools (16 teams) took part and the teams played at least 3 teams, consisting of 4 ends. The children played really well, winning some, drawing others and losing a few. They all encouraged and helped each other just like our vision 'Working together, Achieving together.'

Team 2 did exceptionally well and got through to the quarter finals and eventually won the whole tournament so they are now off to the County Finals.

Well done to all the teams, you were true superstars.


Year 6 Netball 20.03.24

Excellent teamwork and perseverance shown by the Year 6 netball team who took part at a tournament at Wantage Primary.

The A team ( Paynton, Darcey, Amathst, Poppy, Tessa, Roni and Lola) just missed out on playing in the final and finished third.

The B team (Lily, Jasmine, Caitlin, Kaitlin, Abigail and Ethan) all played incredibly well despite being a player short and showed great teamwork throughout.


Mixed 7-a-side Football Tournament

On Wednesday 28th February we took part in a Mixed 7-a-side Football Tournament hosted by Millbrook School.

We played a mixture of competitive and friendly games against 7 other schools. Stanford came top of our group and progressed to the final - unfortunately we were beaten 1-0.

Stanford should be very proud of their performance and coming 2nd place.

Well done to Munashe, Tessa, Roni, Lily, Lucca, Darcey, Ethan, Caitlin, Merryn and Toby.


Swimming Gala 26.02.24

Monday 26th of February pupils from Year 6 Imogen, Lily, Darcey, Merryn, Roni and from year 5 James, Evan and Frank represented our school in Swimming Gala in Wantage. Our children were amazing we have some great swimmers in our school.

Boys finished in 4th place. Our girls finished in 2nd place.

Huge congratulations to all involved.


Oxfordshire Schools Dance Festival

On Tuesday 20th February, dance club took part in the Oxfordshire Schools Dance Festival in the New Theatre Oxford.

They did an amazing job and demonstrated such confidence and enthusiasm. The children helped choreograph the dance alongside Mrs Webb.

Well done to all the dancers and Mrs Webb for working so hard to perfect the dance. You were true superstars.


5 A-Side Football

On Wednesday 7th the year 5 and 6 girls were invited to KA's for a 5 a-side football tournament.

We played five games altogether and won two and lost three. All the games were played with the girls giving it their all and working brilliantly as a team.

We had some great goals by Merryn, Darcey and Amathst and some fantastic saves from Isla and Caitlin. Lily P and Tessa worked hard in every game, playing different positions on the field. Well done girls!


Boccia Competition:

The two teams of year six girls did amazingly at the Boccia competition, coming 3rd and 4th out of 11 teams.

They showed great sportsmanship and worked together to achieve a great result.

Well done Imogen, Scarlett, Megan, Caitlin, Mollie and Paynton.


Cross Country:

Year 5 & 6 have done an amazing job at taking part in the cross-country competition in Tisley Park in Abingdon.

Very proud of the children taking part. Merryn , Lily, Amathst, Darcey, Isla, Roni, Lucca, Munashe, Frank, Konrad.


Tag Rugby October 2023

A number of Year 6 children took part in an inter-school tag rugby tournament.

The children all did amazingly despite only having had a few lessons. They won their first game and drew the second and third.

They came third overall and were only one point off making the final.
