Sports Day 29.6.26

Sports Day was a huge success.  We started with an opening ceremony of a banner parade and opening dance which the children performed fantastically. The children took part in a number of races - obstacle, sprint, sack, egg and spoon, relay as well as a long jump, hit the wicket, bean bag and vortex howler throw. All the children tried their best and were encouraging of each other. It was lovely to see so many parents and grandparents in attendance. There was a lovely community feel around the field. Following all the races - Green Team came out as the winners with 308 points.

Many thanks to everyone who came to support their children on the day, especially with the change of date, due to weather. A big thank you to Year 6 who set up and organised the races. Many thanks to Miss Warner for organising the day. Thank you to FOSS for purchasing the medals and ice pops.

Sports and Science Week

Many thanks to Miss Warner and Miss Bowden for organising an inspiring week. On Monday all the children had a martial arts lesson. On Tuesday Stage Coach taught the children a dance routine for our opening ceremony at Sports Day. On Wednesday the scientists from Bright Sparks came in and the children created colour changing slime, created a chemical reaction to blow up a balloon and looked at acids and alkali with PH scales. The children have also carried out their own science investigations and created posters to explain the investigation, results and conclusions.

We are looking forward to continuing our Sports next week (due to the temperatures this week) and we hope to see you at our Sports Day on Monday. Please remember to get sponsorship for our Colour Run on Tuesday.
