Sutton Courtney
As part of our topic, 'Marvellous Minibeasts' we visited Sutton Courtenay Field Study Centre for a minibeast workshop.

The children loved handling beetle larvae, going on a bug hunt armed with a spoon, paintbrush and collection pot, and spotting identifying birds (of the stuffed, fluffy kind) in their natural habitat! The sound garden with giant tubes and the woodland area offering great trees to climb and build dens beneath were very popular after our picnic lunch.

The children were able to put their new found knowledge about pupa and larvae into context and really enjoyed exploring different minibeast habitats.

Big Toddle:
On Monday 25th June the Foundation children joined up with Stanford Preschool for their annual Big Toddle in aid of Barnado's.

The weather was fabulous and so were their costumes which linked with Barnado's nature theme this year. It was lovely to see a wide variety of colourful butterflies and ladybirds toddling alongside the odd lion, tiger and even a zebra.

After the walk around the village, the children enjoyed an icepop and drink as well as some fun races - the highlight of which was the pram race - luckily without the babies on board!
